互联网带来的变革我自己应该就是最深切的体会者之一。1996年暑假，我刚刚进入互联网业，我是在清华图书馆的期刊室整整埋了两个月时间，看的是几年来国内外的相关出版物，国外最新的也是好几个月前出版。但已经是如饥似渴，美妙无比。但是，互联网来了，很快我就可以直接在网上看到越来越多最新的文章，几乎所有重要的国外杂志都可以在出版之前在网上先看到文章。
     不知不觉，这些年，我的硬盘已经保存了近10g的资料信息，它们是我的精神食粮，是我透视产业的根本武装。我觉得虽然互联网很喜新厌旧，但是过去积累的资料中，还是有不少依然有价值的东西。而且现在新东西都可以方便得到，但是不少“老家伙”可能已经踏破铁鞋无觅处。反正它们闲着也是闲着，我准备一一挑选出来，陆续与大家共享。我想作为一名博客，除了每天像蜜蜂一样把最新的信息和知识精华采集回来，也可以把历史积累的好东西拿出来与人分享。历史中许多东西是可以沉淀下来的。否则，这个世界，这个产业会太轻飘飘了。
     本排名是从我的硬盘里扒拉出来，已经有3年之久。虽然不是美酒，但是这些年我还是时不时翻出来“温故知新”。排名是由“网谷”（internet valley）公司推出，从1995年到1999年基本每个季度都盘点一番。可惜这项很有意思的排名随着互联网退潮也消失在网络中。如今许多大名鼎鼎的媒体也“东风扫去香魂落”，不过看看这些排名数据，对大家还是有着一定的参考价值。毕竟，再物是人非，互联网的精华依旧，多数优秀的媒体和网站依然活跃在第一线，天天为我们准备好丰富的精神食粮。
     由于目前网站只能上传纯文本，无法把各大网站的链接地址上传。博客中国正式版推出后，将修补上去。使得大家可以方便上网。
     本文分别排列了1996年、1998年和1999年的3次，人们从中也可以窥视出那些年互联网波谲云诡的大变化。当然，如果再有一份现在的排名，就十分完美了。可惜，只能是白日梦了。人总是永远生活在缺憾之中。
